Silvanis Seating by Halcon

Designed by Edward F. Weller III for Minnesota-based manufacturer Halcon, Silvanis Lounge Seating is meant to have “an undercurrent of luxury” and a timeless appeal. Although Halcon specializes in executive office casegoods and furniture, the company intended to broaden their possible markets with the Silvanis sofa and chair, hoping the modern look of the collection “would have application in both contract and residential interiors.”

Is your teen too old for trick-or-treating?

Your high-schooler wants to trick-or-treat. Isn’t this just an excuse to egg people’s houses in a costume?

Parent advice :

This is a total trust call on the part of the parent and your teen’s track record with you, and the group he intends to go with. If you have made trips to bail him out of the local hoosegow, you probably will want to impose restrictions — like “Yes, dear, you may trick or treat, but I’m dressing up like Lady Gaga and coming with you.” But if he has shown that he can follow the rules and meet your expectations, I say let him go.

Will The Real 99% Please Stand Up?

Over the past two weeks, a group of Occupy Wall Street supporters called “We Will NOT Be Co-Opted” has been working on a statement to declare its independence from any group or political organization. Nothing’s been approved yet, but some form of the first sentence from the draft will likely make it through: “The Democratic and Republican parties do not represent the people because they’ve been bought and corrupted by Wall Street, and the occupation does not support their candidates.” The statement probably won’t name names.

The loft of the designer in Madrid Rocio Galatas

In an old hardware store in Madrid, the interior designer Rocio Galatas take the house of his dreams and furnished with a connoisseurs taste certainly, but also voted to vintage fusion to a certain style. The pieces chosen because often come from different contexts: the design elements opposed to items bought at the flea market, rustic chairs collide with a minimalist kitchen, modern art sculptures and living with antiques. The impression therefore that given by a mixture of styles and feelings, but they combine to make this truly unique loft apartment.
